Proposed Changes to OSHA Record Keeping

osha_logo OSHA press release dated November 14, 2013. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed a rule to improve the tracking of workplace injuries and illnesses. The new rule would amend the current record keeping standard  §1904.41.

According to OSHA’s Unified Agenda, RIN: 1218-AC49, the rule expands OSHA’s legal authority to collect and make available the injury and illness information required under §1904. This will be done by adding requirements of electronic submission of injury and illness data (Federal Register).

OSHA will be holding a public meeting on the rule change on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 9 am till 4:30 pm. The deadline to request to attend or speak at the meeting is Friday December 13, 2013.

See RIN: 1218-AC49 for contact information or the E-Rulemaking Portal to electronically send a request.
